The Power of Being Supported- And How It Reignited My Purpose

Sometimes, motivation doesn’t come from within — it comes from being seen.

Recently, a former coworker reached out to me in a way that genuinely caught me off guard. Not only did he support my blog, but he actively shared it, spoke highly of my work, and invited me to speak at an event he’s hosting. There was no hesitation, no doubt, no lukewarm encouragement. Just belief. When I went to his post and saw my picture and my content it made me realize I need to get back to what I love. The comments underneath let me know I still have a job to do.

And I didn’t realize how much I needed that.

When you’re building something — especially a personal brand — it’s easy to pour so much energy into everyone else that you forget what it feels like to have someone pour back into you. To hear someone say, “What you’re doing matters. Your voice matters. Your brand has value.”

That support helped pull me out of a creative slump I didn’t even realize I was in. It reminded me why I started blogging in the first place. Why I’ve always felt called to share my experiences, my growth, and my journey as a woman, a mother, and a professional navigating purpose with intention.

What stood out the most wasn’t just the opportunity — it was the confidence behind the support. No jealousy. No competition. No confusion. Just alignment and encouragement. That kind of energy is powerful. It makes you want to show up bigger, better, and more focused.

It also reaffirmed something I already knew but needed to feel again: support doesn’t have to be begged for. When someone truly believes in you, it’s effortless for them to show it.

This experience reminded me that the right people will always find ways to champion your growth. They won’t minimize your vision or overlook your efforts. They’ll help you sharpen them.

And sometimes, all it takes is one person believing in your work to help you believe in it again too.

I’m grateful — not just for the opportunity, but for the reminder that my brand, my voice, and my purpose are worth supporting.
